Women’s Missionary Union

Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) offers organizations and ministries that enable every member of the church to learn about missions, become involved in missions and live a missional lifestyle.  At First Baptist Church – Richland, we strive to fulfill the objectives of WMU:

*Pray for missions

*Engage in mission action (monthly projects) and witnessing (to be the hands and feet of Jesus)

*Learn about missions

*Support missions

*Develop spiritually toward a mission lifestyle

*Participate in the work of the church and Southern Baptists

Two WMU groups meet monthly and would be happy to welcome you.  All work together to advance the Kingdom of God.

The Valerie Seat mission group meets on the third Monday of each month at 3 p.m. in winter and 5 p.m. in summer.

The Templeton mission group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m.

The whole group comes together to meet after Family Night on the first Wednesday of the month.  Dinner is at 6:15pm and the meeting is at 7pm.  Come and see what it’s all about.

The WMU coordinates the church wide mission projects to help people in our own community and missionaries serving in other parts of the world.

Examples of our Mission projects include:

*School supplies and backpack program to supply food to children and their families

*Collected items for deserving groups such as items for the Richland Care Center, items for the Area Pregnancy Center, prepared meals for hurting families, Grace’s Closet--A Prom Event, sewing items for a WRAPs ministry, etc.

*Coordinate church involvement in the four mission offerings:  Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, Missouri State Missions Offering and Global Hunger Relief that we take to coincide with the Super Bowl.
